New Views Playwriting Course

A 10-week playwriting programme aimed at anyone over the age of 16 with an interest in learning more about writing for theatre. This course will follow the framework of the acclaimed National Theatre Learning’s programme for emerging playwrights; New Views.

Each week participants will gain insights from today’s most significant professional playwrights and try out new techniques to learn the craft of playwriting.

Each session focuses on a different part of creating a script, generating ideas and developing your voice as a writer through exercises, discussions and feedback.

By taking part in this programme you will have a unique and exciting opportunity to: explore your talent; sharpen your approach to research; and hone your ability to develop and articulate ideas on key ethical questions and dilemmas.

WARNING: The materials of this course contain strong language and controversial subject matter which some may find offensive. N.B. The views expressed in the recorded interviews are those of the playwrights only, and not of the National Theatre or of The Electric Sunshine Project.
