Jon’s gallery a picture of success

Goldenfish gallery and framing studio on Highfield Road opened back in April 2015 to sell and repair picture frames as well as providing local art to help people brighten up their homes.
Jon Wright offers picture framing to customers wanting to turn their holiday photos or painted canvas souvenirs into a lasting memory, as well as making special celebrations like weddings or graduations stand out from the crowd.
In addition to new images, Jon also takes requests from customers wanting to update their frames to match their new home décor and updating old frames to make them more modern. He can also carry out repairs to broken glass in picture frames.
The gallery also sells pictures and art by local artists, as well as specially hand picked out prints and framed items that match individual customers’ home decoration and hobbies.
Eighteen months after opening, business is booming for the gallery, which is open six times a week.
Jon said: “I’m happy to help people turn their memories into a piece of art to hang on the wall – anything from framed sportswear to sports items or just lovely photos of family.
“A new frame or a change in frame colour can turn pictures from traditional to modern in an instant. Upcycling and recycling is a great way to update home décor.”
There is a selection of items available for sale and Jon is happy to help customers find what they like to finish off their decorating project.
Cllr Mark Smith, Blackpool Council’s Cabinet Member for Business and Economic Development, added: “I’m delighted that Jon’s business is proving successful and hope that it continues.
“90% of the businesses that Get Started has helped in the last two years are still operating and in some cases, doing very well indeed. That’s because businesses can still benefit from our expert advice and support even after they are up and running.”
