Mum Angela stretches into new yoga studio

Angela Ross has set up the town’s first dedicated yoga space in Bispham, two years after she got started by running her own company.
Angela, who had previously been renting spaces across the town, has now set up Yoga Blackpool at its permanent base at the corner of Red Bank Road and the Promenade, allowing visitors to relax with breathing and stretching techniques while overlooking the Irish Sea.
Mum of two Angela has been practising yoga for over 15 years, learning from various teachers and mastering certain styles such as Iyengar, Hatha and Vinyasa.
Angela said: “I incorporate these principals into my yoga classes, creating safe sequences that support the breath and strengthen the body. I am passionate about yoga and its benefits. I love teaching and sharing my knowledge and experience. My yoga practice helps me to live the life I have with kindness, tolerance and love for myself and those around me. Life isn’t always easy, yoga helps.
“I have been searching for the perfect location for over 3 years and believe that I have found this in Blackpool where my new studio is located.
“Yoga Blackpool is situated on the first floor, overlooking the sea with panoramic views; an oasis of calm.”
Angela got involved with Get Started, the council’s business start-up service, two years ago when she attended a specialist enterprise course. With help on her business and financial plans from the team’s experts her company has now gone from strength to strength, culminating in her finally setting up her own studio.
Cllr Mark Smith, Blackpool Council’s Cabinet Member for Business and Economic Development, said: “I’m so happy for Angela that she’s now been able to find a base to run her business from, which will help her to further establish it across the town.
“In our busy lives, Angela has spotted a gap in the market to help people relax and take control of their mental health and I wish her the best of success with it.
“90% of the businesses that Get Started has helped in the last two years are still operating and in some cases, doing very well indeed. That’s because businesses can still benefit from our expert advice and support even after they are up and running.”
