New Business Award Winner sponsored by ‘Get Started’

Wigan business woman and owner of Sensoriel CIC, Amy Cotter has been crowned winner in the ‘New Business’ category sponsored by Blackpool Council’s ‘Get Started’ scheme at the 2014 Enterprise Vision Awards.

Amy’s business, Sensoriel CIC offers a range of multisensory services and interventions for both children and adults who have conditions which impact their ability to use their senses to their full potential. The company’s mobile unit means these services can be delivered right across the borough of Wigan.

Amy said of winning the award: “It felt like an amazing achievement to make the final of the EVA’s, so to then go on to be named winner is just fantastic. We were up against so many great businesses, so it truly is a great honour.

“The award isn’t just for me, there are so many people that support Sensoriel CIC including our board of trustees, friends and family who all do so much to help raise the funds which are vital to keep us doing the work that we do.”

David Slater of Get Started and sponsor of the New Business category added: “The New Business category attracted some really high quality entries from diverse sectors and the face-to-face interviews provided great insight into the individuals and the businesses they have started, as well as the evident passion and commitment from all those seen. As judges we were faced with some extremely difficult decisions as we saw many businesses destined for success but we must wish Amy a huge congratulations in being our final winner!

“Get Started is a start-up service and through the service we meet a steady stream of female entrepreneurs who have had an idea, done the hard work and successfully started their own businesses. Sponsoring the New Business category offered us the opportunity to recognise and celebrate inspirational business women from across the region.”
