University Entrepreneurs Grant

The University Entrepreneurs Grant is a fantastic business competition that aims to discover a brilliant ‘bright idea’ that could lead to an amazing new venture, sponsored by Official Patron, The Masood Enterprise Centre at the University of Manchester, and CCL Digital.

The University Entrepreneurs Grant is run in conjunction with the prestigious Educate North Awards – an annual event which celebrates, recognises and shares best practice and excellence in the education sector in the North of England.

Four potential businesses will be selected to sell their ‘concept’ to attendees of the Educate North Awards ceremony. Audience members will vote on which business idea has the greatest potential.

This is a great opportunity for a budding entrepreneur to gain valuable experience in selling their idea to investors, creating valuable business relationships at the start of their journey and taking that first step in making their business dream a reality.

The prize includes a grant of £1000 to develop the business plan, access to a mentor, publicity and the opportunity to return in 12 months to update everyone on their progress.

To be eligible you can be any age and you simply need to have a great idea and to be or have been a student at a one of the North of England’s fantastic universities or further education colleges.

Fill in the application and return it by Thursday April 2, 2020.

Successful applicants will be informed of their success by Monday April 13, 2020.

Please make sure you are available for run throughs’ as well as the event on the afternoon and evening the awards at the Hilton Deansgate in Manchester.

On the evening, shortlisted candidates are invited to incorporate technology and presentation materials to assist them in their three minute pitch.
