Chris, who is also known by his stage name of Beach Club is a music producer, DJ and event organiser from Blackpool.
With the help of the Get Started service, Chris was able to access a £6,000 loan to get his business off the ground from the Start Up Loan Company. In such a short time, after getting his money, his businesses have really taken off.
Thanks to the funding, Chris has now set up his own recording studio with top of the range equipment as well as starting his own clothing brand.
On top of this, he has also lined up partners for the BlocRoc festival aimed at young people in Blackpool to teach them about music, art and culture.
Councillor Fred Jackson, Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Urban Development, said: “I’m proud to say that this council is fighting for the small businesses.
“The Get Started scheme offers some great expert advice to anybody thinking of setting up on their own. As well as special workshops and seminars, we are also able to help people create business plans and secure them funding to begin building their companies.
“At a time when the economy is tight for many, it’s really important that we can help people to become their own bosses, and we’re already getting some great success stories from businesses which are thriving thanks to our help.”
