A MUM-of-two has realised her dream of starting her own alternative therapies business after a ten year wait.

Louise Leece has opened her studio Natural Therapy Releece in Crossland Road and aims to be as environmentally friendly as possible.

She qualified with her diploma from Blackpool and The Fylde College ten years ago but motherly duties came first before she could launch her dream.

After doing a series of part time jobs Louise decided the time was right to give it a go and she contacted Blackpool Council’s Get Started programme for advice.

Louise, 30, a member of the Federation of Holistic Therapists, said: “A lady who did holistic therapy here decided to move on and the shop became available. So there is a sort of continuity.

“I have always been interested in this. I was drawn to it many years ago from the age of 17.

“I had worked recently in pubs and clubs but wanted something much more rewarding. My children are eight and four and I think it is important to be ethically aware. We generally eat organic food, plenty of fruit and veg and I wanted to carry that through into my business.”

“So as well as sourcing materials from ethical sources, using organic oils, towels and other sustainable products where possible, Louise has chosen a green energy supplier.

“I have chosen Ecotricity to supply energy coming from clean sources such as wind and solar power which is helping to support a greener Britain and green business’ in Blackpool.”

Louise’s business offers aromatherapy, Swedish massage, reflexology, hot stone massage, Indian head massage, Hopi ear candles and remedial massage for sports injuries.

She added; “The hot stone massage is great. I use heated basalt stones which can be placed on the body or used in massage. It is very relaxing and stress relieving.”
