Some people are born in Blackpool and never want to leave. Others spread their wings, explore the world and find themselves drawn back home. And some choose Blackpool as the place to start a business, build a career or take their next big step.
Whatever brings them here, they're all part of what makes Blackpool such a special place to work and do business.
And at The Robinson, how lucky are we to be right in the middle of it all?
Every day, we welcome people who are building businesses, developing careers, making connections and creating opportunities, right here in Blackpool to our offices, co working space and meeting rooms.
Made in Blackpool. And proud of it.
Take the Blackpool Pier Company, for example. A business that's as much a part of Blackpool's identity as the piers themselves. They were the very first office tenants at The Robinson, bringing a little piece of Blackpool's famous heritage into another of the town's much-loved buildings.
And it's not just businesses finding their place here. Coworker James Wright moved back to the Fylde Coast a few years ago. Having tried coworking in Preston and Manchester, he wanted somewhere closer to home where he could meet other professionals. He found it at The Robinson.
That's what we love about the mix of people at The Robinson. Some have always called Blackpool home, some have travelled further afield and found their way back, and all are part of the businesses, careers and connections being made here every day.
Blackpool people. Blackpool pride.
And it's not just the businesses and coworkers who have a connection to Blackpool. The people welcoming them into The Robinson do too.
Take Rob Crawford, or 'Rob at The Rob' as he's affectionately known. Rob was born in Blackpool and already knew the building long before he came to work here. Now he's one of the first friendly faces people see when they walk through the doors.
And when he's not at The Robinson, there's a good chance you'll find him enjoying another of Blackpool's much-loved landmarks, the seafront. Whether he's walking along the coast with his partner and their cockapoo, or taking part in beach cleans, it's a place that's close to his heart.
“Blackpool seafront will always be one of my favourite places,” says Rob.
It's just minutes away from The Robinson too, and Rob's passion for looking after the environment is something he shares with the building itself, which has been thoughtfully restored with sustainability in mind.
And then there's Louis Darbyshire, our Workspace Operations Coordinator and Building Manager, who's also from Blackpool and has built his career here.
For Louis, one of the best parts of working at The Robinson is getting to know the people and businesses who come through the doors. From welcoming new office tenants to chatting with coworkers and visitors, he loves seeing the business community grow and the connections being made along the way.
When asked what he enjoys most about his job? Meeting different people, making sure everyone has a great experience and, in his own words, “The free biscuits. The free biscuits definitely help.”
It's the little things, isn't it?
Made in Blackpool. Quite literally.
And there's one more Made in Blackpool story we'd love to share. Our own.
The transformation of the historic Stanley Buildings into The Robinson brought together local businesses, skills and expertise, all working towards giving one of Blackpool's familiar landmarks an exciting new chapter.
From the construction and design teams to the people who now work here, there's a real sense of local pride woven into the building.
And how lovely that a place brought to life by local people is now home to businesses, careers and connections being made right here in Blackpool.
Made in Blackpool. And proud to be part of it.
