The Business Growth team at Blackpool Council respects your privacy as a user of its website and this page explains how Blackpool Council uses any information you give us.

- To provide the business support service you requested by the Blackpool Growth Business Academy delivered by external provider The Small Business Academy and the Blackpool Net Zero Business Academy delivered by external provider Adler and Allan

- To deliver direct marketing services via our external provider Happy Creative
What is our lawful basis?
The UK GDPR Article 6 lawful basis for the council to collect and use your personal information is because:
a) Consent: you has given us your clear consent and/or;
b) In line with the Privacy & Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR)
What types of information do we collect?
We will only collect your contact details such as:
- Name
- Company name and trading/company information (if applicable)
- Phone
- Address
- Benefits information
Who do we share your information with?
The council will share your information with our external providers of business support The Small Business Academy and Adler and Allen to provide the relevant business support service.
We use the service Mailchimp to deliver our mailing list. Names and email addresses are kept on Mailchimp’s server which is based in the USA. The council have ensured that the appropriate safeguards are being met when your data is transferred out of the EU to the USA.
With your consent we will share your information with our external marketing services provider. We do this securely and in line with the UK GDPR
Online forms
If you complete one of our forms, we will only use the information for the purpose for which you provide it. We will not use the personal information you give us for marketing purposes without asking you.

Office Services
Why do we collect your information?
The business growth office services team offer a range of services. This includes serviced office space, meeting room hire, co-working memberships and virtual office services (postal address service with additional bolt-ons such as ‘scanning and shredding’. To do this it is required to collect and process your personal and company information.
Initially the team require some basic information from you; this is used to qualify your enquiry so that the team can assess which services may be appropriate for your company.
Once they understand your needs, they can assess the next steps and request further information relevant to the service or services required.

- (b) Contract: the processing is necessary for a contract you have with the individual, or because they have asked you to take specific steps before entering into a contract
