Meeting Rooms in Blackpool Town Centre: Your Questions Answered
Rob and Louis discuss booking a meeting room at The Robinson
One day it's a client presentation, which we hear went well. That same afternoon it's a senior leader holding one-to-ones with their team. Then an interview panel. Then a workshop. Next week, a training session.
Since opening, we've welcomed all sorts of organisations through the doors of The Robinson, each using our meeting rooms in their own way.
So, we sat down with Business Centre Administrator, Rob Crawford, and Workspace Operations Coordinator and Building Manager, Louis Darbyshire, to get the answers to the questions they're asked most often when it comes to booking a meeting room.
"Who typically uses the meeting rooms at The Robinson?"
Rob: "It's a real mix. I welcome such a variety on reception, from businesses meeting clients, organisations running training sessions, recruitment agencies conducting interviews and teams getting together for planning days.
You don’t need to be based at The Robinson to use the meeting rooms, they're available to anyone looking to hire a meeting room in Blackpool town centre."
"What makes The Robinson’s meeting rooms different?"
Louis: "For me, it's the combination of the building's character and the facilities. The Robinson has a fantastic history. It was originally built in 1935 and designed by the renowned Borough architect, John Charles Robinson. So the recent renovations have allowed us to retain the art deco heritage, while creating a modern, professional space that businesses can use.
I think the real wow factor is our Derby Room which can be set up as a boardroom or in a theatre style, it has its own kitchen facilities and access to a terrace.”
"Is the location of The Robinson accessible?"
Rob: "Accessibility is no issue for anyone wanting to visit.
We're right in the centre of Blackpool, just a short walk from Blackpool North train station, with plenty of parking nearby and excellent transport links. If people are travelling from elsewhere on the Fylde Coast or further afield, it's easy to find and access.
Or if you like to do your bit for the environment and live locally, we have secure bike storage for if you decide to cycle to The Robinson."
"What size meetings can you accommodate?"
Louis: "We have six fully equipped meeting rooms that can accommodate up to 40 people, so whether it’s hosting a small client meeting, conducting interviews or running a larger training session, we have a space to suit.
All our meeting rooms are equipped with secure high-speed Wi-Fi and video conferencing facilities through Teams, zoom or google meet, and we supply complimentary tea, coffee and filtered water in the meeting rooms.”
"What surprises people when they visit The Robinson for the first time?"
Rob: "I think it's the scale of what we offer.
Many people come here expecting to see a meeting room and then discover there's a whole business community inside the building. Alongside the meeting rooms, we have co-working spaces, 44 private offices, breakout areas and communal facilities. The Robinson is becoming a real hub for businesses, freelancers and entrepreneurs."
"What should I expect from a meeting room at The Robinson?"
Louis: "If you're meeting a client, interviewing a candidate or running an important session with your team, the environment matters. Having a dedicated professional space helps people focus, collaborate and get the most from the meeting.
Our meeting rooms are designed with that in mind. They're comfortable, modern spaces with large presentation screens, fast broadband and temperature-controlled environments.”
Rob: "It's often the little things that make a difference too. Because we have a manned reception, there's always someone here to welcome guests and point them in the right direction, which creates a great first impression.
We also know that not every meeting needs a full day booking. That's why our rooms can be hired by the hour, giving businesses the flexibility to use the space for exactly as long as they need."
