Your Business Can Change Lives

As part of our commitment to our children and young people and in partnership with the Care Leaver Covenant, Blackpool Council are seeking support from local employers and businesses to help create opportunities for care-experienced young people.

Care-experienced young people often face additional barriers to securing employment despite having the skills, qualifications and resilience to succeed. By offering employment, apprenticeships, work experience, mentoring or training opportunities, employers can make a lasting difference to a young person's future while demonstrating their commitment to social value, inclusion and social mobility.

With an increased focus on youth unemployment and a range of apprenticeship funding and employer incentives available, now is an ideal time to support care-experienced young people into employment and training pathways.

If you are unable to provide employment opportunities at this time, there are many other ways to support care-experienced young people, including guaranteed interviews, signing up to the Care Leaver Friendly Employer Charter, mentoring, access to sports, leisure and cultural activities, discounted offers, and financial guidance. Every contribution can make a meaningful difference to a young person's future.
