Blackpool Net Zero Business Academy Strengthens Sustainability Team
The Blackpool Net Zero Business Academy has announced the addition of Tim Mawby, Senior Sustainability Consultant, to its team. Tim, who brings a wealth of experience in energy assessment and net zero initiatives, is a senior member of Adler & Allan's consultancy team. He will work alongside sustainability specialists Megan Tucker and Caitlin Sanderson to deliver comprehensive net zero and decarbonisation plans for businesses in Blackpool.
Tim is an expert in carbon footprint assessment and has a diverse portfolio that includes evaluating the environmental impacts of skincare products, motor racing components, candles, perfumes and paper bags. His expertise extends to assessing the benefits of virtual reality in the automotive sector reviewing how VR can be used to test drive vehicles and save carbon. Tim's skills encompass mapping and reducing energy usage and carbon emissions across various industries, from airports to manufacturing and to tech companies.
"What I enjoy most about my role is the variety. Every client and every market segment bring something fresh, making each day fascinating. There's always a lot of research involved to understand the source of materials used, as well as detailed analysis. It's not just about the numbers, but the interesting facts behind them," he said.
In his new position, Tim will support Blackpool businesses with their carbon reduction plans, providing detailed reporting and guidance alongside Megan and Caitlin. His arrival bolsters an already strong team who are already making a difference to local businesses who are reducing their energy consumption, saving money and decarbonising their business. The team have worked with iconic ice cream parlour, Notarianni Ices, and Links Signs & Graphics as well as a number of other businesses in sectors including beauty, manufacturing, hospitality and leisure.
Blackpool Council’s Head of Business Growth, Angela Kershaw, said "Tim brings a vast amount of experience from various sectors, which will be invaluable in helping businesses in Blackpool reduce their energy consumption, lower carbon emissions, and cut costs. His insights and expertise will be a valuable part of the team."
