Supporting Blackpool’s Community
Social value is at the core of Blackpool Council’s contracts. Via the contracts we award, we aim to be able to give back and support the Blackpool community, and we believe that every business has the power to make a difference. In this social value series, we highlight how the contractors we work with are supporting businesses and communities in Blackpool.
Here’s how marketing agency Happy Creative are creating a positive social impact by making a monthly donation to Blackpool Foodbank, an incredible charity dedicated to providing vital food supplies to those in need.
Blackpool Foodbank
Blackpool Foodbank plays an essential role in our community, offering a lifeline to those facing food insecurity. With the rising cost of living, many people across Blackpool, Fylde, and Wyre are struggling to put food on the table. Their vision is to see communities where everyone has access to nourishing food, and no food goes to waste. Volunteers work tirelessly to rescue nutritious, surplus food from supermarkets, manufacturers, and suppliers, preventing it from being wasted and ensuring it reaches those in need. Every month, they redistribute this food to over 8,000 people through their network of more than 80 partner organisations across the Fylde Coast.
Beyond providing food parcels, Blackpool Foodbank is committed to tackling the root causes of food poverty. They collaborate with local organisations to provide support services, helping individuals and families access the guidance and resources they need to improve their circumstances. Their work is about more than just filling empty plates; it’s about restoring dignity, offering hope, and fostering stronger, more resilient communities.
There are many ways to get involved with Blackpool Foodbank. Whether it’s through donating food, hosting a fundraising event, or volunteering time, every effort makes a real difference. Their mission is built on collective support, and together, the goal is to ensure that no one in our community goes hungry.
9,100* meals
Happy’s contributions to Blackpool Foodbank up to March 2025 has already helped to provide 9,100 regular meals*, offering comfort and support to families who need it most.
Chief Happy, Karen Lambert said “As a company that believes in the power of community, we are committed to playing our part in supporting Blackpool Foodbank’s work. We are so proud to be able to support this incredible charity and be able to help to promote a positive change in our community. Through our ongoing donations we are reflecting our own core values of putting people first, giving back to others and always finding a way.”
